3/1/12: The mere presence of aluminum wiring does not always justify rewiring the entire home. In most cases, replacement of aluminum wire is an overreaction to what is often a manageable problem. 6/1/12: Carbon Monoxide alarms are very effective at alerting persons to danger from carbon monoxide, and will sound an alarm at a low level of exposure.
Make sure you pay close attention to the mounting instructions that come with the carbon monoxide alarms. While testing of these devices is not included in the Standard of Practice of a home inspection, reporting the absence of these devices is included in every home inspection report issued by friendly building inspections.

Before your client makes an irrevocable offer on that Bank-owned house, be sure to have it inspected by a certified CREIA Inspector. A certified member of the California Real Estate Inspection Association can provide the client with a written report that provides documentation of the material defects discovered in the building's systems and components that are safety hazards, are not functioning properly, or are at the end of the service life of the installed material. This is an important decision.
We have been Certified Inspector members of CREIA since 1992. We look forward to working with you in the future. |
