6/1/12: Carbon Monoxide alarms are very effective at alerting persons to danger from carbon monoxide, and will sound an alarm at a low level of exposure. Make sure you pay close attention to the mounting instructions that come with the carbon monoxide alarms. While testing of these devices is not included in the Standard of Practice of a home inspection, reporting the absence of these devices is included in every home inspection report issued by friendly building inspections.
